Today is called Mega Monday, on this day people shop online more than any other day of the entire year. The reason is very simple, people just got paid and they want to buy gifts for Christmas before it hits.
Here are the most popular 5 ancient Egyptian gifts out there today, for your loved ones or for just pampering yourself!
1- The Ancient Egyptian Bracelets. (from $9 to $1700!)
The thing about bracelets, specially the ancient Egyptian ones, is that they can be used any time, on no special occasion at all. They are still gloriously amazing!
The prices will vary greatly depending on the quality and the materials used in the making of the bracelet. The cheapest item is the Ankh Bracelet (available on Amazon) It is available for like 10 Dollars or less.
The prices go up till they hit the roof, one of the most expensive but yet most precious ancient Egyptian gifts out there on Amazon is the Cleopatra Gold Bracelet (also available on Amazon), however, for this precious yellow and white gold bracelet, you will pay $1700. And that is actually with a 50% discount, the original price was
However, my favorite bracelet is neither one. I like the one here in the picture, it looks very authentic and it represents exactly my idea about ancient Egyptian jewelry.
You can get it here for $220
2- The Famous Cleopatra Costumes. ($20 to $150 items)
Though these costumes were originally made and sold for Halloween (and they sold very well back then), they still make large sales for Christmas.
By far, the Cleopatra costumes sell better than any other costumes out there, and second comes the costume of her lover, Mark Anthony.
This costume here in the picture on the right side is called "deluxe Cleopatra costume", it has pretty much everything included.
You can get it directly from the manufacturer's website for $107.19.
Actually the original price was $148.99, but they are running 28% discounts these days. Needless to say, you will not pay a cent in extra-commission. That's not my plot line :)
Buy now for $107.19 and save 28%
However, this is not the only costume out there, there are many Cleopatra costumes out there that are much cheaper, but they are not as complete of course. Check this detailed list here.
3- Ancient Egyptian Books ($20 to $30)
Though less and less people read books every year, still books make a very good Christmas gift. Probably it is a part of our heritage.
In addition to that, books are usually cheap and they still have much value, at least we like to think of them that way!
There are thousands and thousands of books out there about ancient Egypt, but my favorite is The Chronicles of the Pharaohs.
This books tells you the complete story of ancient Egypt from the day it started till the end of Cleopatra's era.
The best thing about it is that you don't have to be a genius or an expert to read it, plus it keeps you very interested to go from one chapter to another with pictures and notes, you never grow tired of it.
You can buy it here for 20 or 30 Dollars, I guess.
4- Personalized Cartouche Pendant (surprisingly affordable)
Though this is one of the nicest Christmas gift ideas, still not many people order it for Christmas. I believe the reason must be that they think it must cost an arm and a leg to craft your name on a silver or gold cartouche.
I am not sure what the best place out there is that makes these cartouches, but I know they are available on Amazon for very reasonable prices.
Check here one of these cartouches, you can get your name (or your loved ones) for around $40 on a silver cartouche pendant.
5- Number Five is Yours to Fill!
Let us know in a comment, what was your favorite Christmas gift that you ever received? Was it related to ancient Egypt?
What was the one Christmas gift that you were very proud to give to someone?
What are you going to give to your loved ones this Christmas?
Do you think Christmas is a good occasion to show some love to ancient Egypt? Or it is irrelevant and should be kept strictly western?
